Hey everyone -
I didn't realize it had been so long since I gave you all an update. It's been a crazy two years to say the least.
I am still getting chemo but I am supposed to be done this October (woohoo!). I spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital. My last admission being in September of last year for a mysterious fever. My immune system is weak because of the chemo they have me on, so anytime I get a fever over 100.3*F I am supposed to go to the hospital and get admitted and given tons of antibiotics until it goes away.
Being in and out of the hospital so much combined with the chemo, I lost a lot of my muscle mass and I have been slowly gaining it back. I went from needing to use a wheel chair a lot of the time, to a walker, then the cane I currently use. I've come a long way from where I was a year and a half ago, but I still have a long ways to go.
Because of my physical health I had to kind of put photography on the back burner for a while but I am hoping as i continue to improve that I will have more opportunities to get back into that. I started crocheting 3 years ago and have had a lot of fun with this new hobby. I've made a lot of stuff and have even sold some items locally. I've contemplated starting an Etsy, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet
As for other things that have been keeping me busy, I became a volunteer admin for an awesome project and Facebook group called Buy Nothing (
buynothingproject.org/). You may or may not have heard of it. It started about 3 years ago in my own state, Washington, and has spread across the globe. I love the concept of what the project is about and how it's allowed me to become more involved in my community. Being an admin has been interesting and I've learned a lot from it and learn new things every day.
Anyways - I hope you all have been well!
- Sarah
